About ThreadSave

ThreadSave is a free web tool for saving media from public posts on Threads — videos, photos, GIFs, carousels, a profile's recent feed, and profile pictures. It exists because Threads has no built-in way to save someone else's media, and the usual workarounds (screenshots, screen recordings, or ad-heavy apps) are low-quality or invasive. It's a small, focused utility rather than a company: no accounts, no sign-ups, just paste a link and download.

What it does: it fetches the original file Threads serves and hands it to you at full quality — the untouched MP4 for videos, full-resolution images for photos, the real 640×640 avatar for profile pictures — with no watermark and no re-encoding. What it deliberately does not do: it does not access private accounts. If a profile is private, its posts aren't publicly visible, and we don't bypass that or pretend to; the tool only ever works with content anyone could already open in a browser.

How it works, and what that means for privacy: your browser can't fetch Threads media directly (Threads blocks cross-origin requests), so your link is passed to our server, which retrieves the file and streams it back to you. That pass-through is the only server involvement — we don't store the links you submit, the files you download, or any history of what you saved. Nothing is written to disk beyond serving the response.
